Charley Lyttle, 89, went to heaven to join his late wife (Ada) on June 1, 2013. He passed away at his home in Louisville, Kentucky.
Born September 23, 1923 in Manchester, KY, he was the son of the late Emma and Bradley Lyttle. He resided in Manchester for 82 years until he decided to join his daughters in Louisville.
Charley was intimate with the Lord. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Manchester and served as a church deacon for many years.
He proudly worked as a coal miner in Manchester for 25 years and loved to talk about his experiences. He would tell anyone who would listen (especially Louisvillians) about the small spaces and tough work that coal mining entailed. He also loved to talk about his three daughters of whom he was very proud.
Charley is survived by his three daughters and two sons-in-law: Gail and Howard Holloman of Louisville, Barbara Lyttle of Rancho, California and Lena and Mel Daily of Louisville. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Ada Lyttle.
He also leaves behind four loving grandchildren, Bradley Green (Roseanne), Brandon & Lindsay Riggans and Lauren Dailey; and one great grandchild, Hayley Green.
Charley is survived by four brothers and sisters: Louise Combs, Frank Lyttle, Fred Lyttle (Josephine) and Patricia Keeton.
Also mourning his passing are sisters & brothers-in-law: Dorothy Lyttle, Margery Potter, Troy Potter (Wilma), Margaret Love and Eugene Potter (Nan), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his sisters: Beatrice Lyttle and Catherine Bryant. Also preceding him are sisters and brothers-in-law: Launa and Filmore Walker and Marie Potter.
Funeral Services for Mr. Charley Lyttle will be conducted on Friday afternoon, June 7, at 12 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dr. Isaiah W. Cotton will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be on Friday, from 11 AM until the hour of service at 12 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
