John "Buck" Massey, age 64 went to his heavenly home on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at the AdventHealth of Manchester. He was born Wednesday, July 20, 1960 in Corbin, Kentucky to J. B. and Blanche Gregory Massey. He was a member of the Horse Creek Baptist Church and a truck driver for Buck Massey Trucking, Co. Buck loved his family, his dogs, his friends but most importantly, he loved his Lord and Savior. Buck impacted many lives and never met a stranger. He will leave a legacy that will never be forgotten or fade away.
He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife: Sandra Cupp Massey, his sons: Aaron Massey and his wife Kendra and Andrew Massey and his wife Courtney, his daughter: Ashley Morgan and her husband Shannon and his beloved grandchildren: Hunter Morgan, Hagon Morgan, Kenton Massey, Emma Massey, Kendyl Massey and Heath Morgan. Also surviving are his siblings: Charles Ed Massey and his wife Shirley, Carol Brown, Donnie Massey and his Barbara, his sister-in-law: Janice Massey and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends and his beloved companions: Dottie, Rosie, Ryder, Bowser and Diesel.
He is preceded in death by his parents: J. B. and Blanche Massey and his brother: Curtis Wayne Massey.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to The Gideons International in memory of Buck.
Funeral Services for John "Buck" Massey will be conducted on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Horse Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Anthony Lovett, Rev. Bufford Hooker and Dr. Dustin Sims will be presiding. Burial will follow in the Rough Creek Cemetery in the Rough Creek Community of Laurel County.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Thursday, September 19 after 6:00 PM at the Horse Creek Baptist Church.
