Obituary for Bill Lunsford of Burning Springs, Kentucky

Mr. Bill Lunsford, age 74, of Burning Springs, Kentucky born April 23, 1950, passed away on September 8, 2024. Bill was a retired automotive technician and well known throughout the region as being a “Car Painting Artist” with countless cars, trucks, and big rig vehicles displaying his remarkable artistry and skills for over four decades.

Bill was a car enthusiast and had several great collectibles over the years. He enjoyed fishing and telling stories of grand fishing trips. He thoroughly enjoyed classic television westerns such as Rawhide and Gunsmoke. Bill cherished his companion dogs Houdini and Missy. 

Bill is preceded in death by the love of his life, his best friend, and wife Darlene Davis Lunsford. He was also preceded in death by his father and mother, Will Lunsford and Mae Massey Lunsford of Fall Rock, Kentucky. 

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Clay County Cruisers, a community organization that supports the education about and preservation of Classic Cars and Hot Rods and does great work with youth programs across Clay County. 

Funeral Services for Bill Lunsford will be conducted on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.  Pastor Bufford Hooker will be presiding.  Burial will take place at Pine Lick Branch where Mr. Bill Lunsford will “Rest High on the Mountain” at the Davis-Lunsford Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday, September 13, 2024 after 12:00 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Rominger Funeral Home of Manchester, Kentucky.
