Golden Cottongim, age 92, of Richmond, Indiana, died Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at home. Born June 20, 1931, in Manchester, Kentucky to Carlyle and Mary Jarvis Cottongim. He lived most of his life in this community. He was an Electro Plate operator for Belden Corp. for 39 years and worked for Nottingham Automotive. Golden was a member of the Belden 25-year Club.
Survivors include his daughter, Kerry George; sons, Terry (Linda) Cottongim, Roger Cottongim, and Jeff Cottongim, all of Richmond, Indiana; grandchildren, Lorelei George, Brian Redinger, and Meghan (Brant) Redinger; great grandchild, Audrey Runkel; sisters, Mildred (Wheeler) Sparks, of Richmond, Indiana, and Jewel (Tom) Pinkerton of Liberty, Indiana; brother, Orville (Anna) Cottongim of Richmond, Indiana; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Erma June May Cottongim, whom he married in 1957; parents; and brothers, John and Oscar Cottongim; and daughter in law, Marsha Cottongim.
