Edith Sester Madden, age 88 of Winchester, TN formerly of Manchester, KY, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2023, at her residence. Edith was born on September 18, 1935, in Manchester, KY to the late Jairus “Jay” and Martha (Allen) Ball. She retired as a supervisor for Papst bedding company.
Edith enjoyed reading Christian books, working puzzles, playing practical jokes, watching and listening to all things Elvis, but most of all spending quality time with her family. Edith attended Little Hurricane Baptist Church when she was able.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Farmer Sester and Denver Madden; great-grandchild, Hannah Gray and siblings, Junior Ball, Elizabeth Napier and Wayne Ball.
Edith is survived by her children, Lonnie (Ann) Sester and Joan (Ralph) Burlew; grandchildren, Jared Gray, Adam Gray, Stephanie Gray and Timothy (Carmen) Gray; and great-grandchildren, Alyson Gray, Logan Gray and Riddick Wright.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023, from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with funeral service following at 1:00 pm.
Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 1:00 pm at The Farmer Sester Family Cemetery in Manchester, Kentucky.
