William Edward White was born on December 12, 1927, in Manchester, Kentucky, the son of the late James Blaine and Bertha Spurlock White. On February 24, 1951, he was united in marriage to Joyce Jacqueline Whitson, who survives of Cincinnati, Ohio.
He is also survived by seven children, Jeff White (Lori) of Cincinnati, Diane Veeneman (Richard) of West Harrison, Indiana, Eddie White (Dotty) of Hamilton, Benjamin White of Cincinnati, Debbie Neel of West Chester, Ohio, David White (Anita) of Lebanon, Ohio, and Teri Walsh (Tim) of Hamilton; his sisters-in-law Ann White of Manchester, Julia Headford of Indianapolis, Indiana, Georgia Wendland, Janice Firmand and husband Marty, and Cleda Eddy, all of Peoria, Illinois; brother-in-law John Whitson of Galesburg, Illinois; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; plus a host of other friends and relatives to mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by one brother, Ben White, father-in-law Walter Whitson, mother-in-law Sudie Johnson Whitson, sisters-in-law Sandra Whitson, and Leone Young and husband Keith, and brothers-in-law Don Headford, Audley Whitson and wife Shirley, and Jerry Wendland.
He was a retired GE employee in the computer engineering department where he worked with aviation, power and renewable energy. He had a four-year history degree from Eastern College, was a veteran of the United States Army with a Sergeant rank, and a member of the Church of Christ.
William Edward White departed this life at his home on Monday, September 27, 2021, being 93 years, 9 months and 15 days of age.
Graveside services for William Edward White will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday at Dunn Cemetery in London. Military honors will be conducted by DAV Chapter 158 Keavy.
There will be no visitation.
