Ruby Jean Moore, 81, of Lexington, Ky, formerly of Oneida, Ky, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Baptist Health - Lexington. Ruby was born in Gays Creek, KY, on August 4, 1940, the daughter of Mary Gibson Gilbert and Jonah Gilbert.
She is survived by the following children; Traci Scott (Phillip) of McKee, KY, Calvin Bowling (Carol) of Gays Creek, KY, Ricky Begley of Columbia, TN, Lewis Begley of Lewisburg, TN, and Doug Crum (Mary Ann) of Lexington, KY. Ruby is also survived by a brother, Joe Gilbert (Jean) of West Virginia, and a sister, Dora Stanley of Winston Salem, NC.
She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, Ruby is preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters; Ray Gilbert, Ralph Gilbert, Roy Gilbert, Rufford Gilbert, Dorothy Pearl Kennedy, Rhoda Lois Miller, and Ruth Davidson.
Ruby was a resident of Hartland Hills Independent Living Center, in Lexington, where she enjoyed playing Bingo, solving Word Search puzzles, and attending ice cream socials.
The Funeral Service for Ruby will be held 3:00 PM on Sunday August 15th, 2021 at the Britton Funeral Home CHapel with Phyllis Baker Officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery at Brutus.
Visitation will be after 12:00 Noon Sunday at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel.
