Edna Vernon Coots was born July 28th, 1922 in Leslie County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Boon Logan Vernon and Susanne Joseph Vernon. Edna loved flowers, gardening, canning and quilting. She was a member of the Big Creek Baptist Church in Clay County, KY. Edna passed away December 31st, 2020 at Owsley County Health Care Center, Booneville, Kentucky, being 98 years of age.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Coots and two sons, Charles B. (Chuck) Coots and Evertc (Butchie) Coots, two daughters, Evelene Coots and Helen Coots, two brothers Vernon and Denver Lewis and one sister, Ruby Callahan.
She is survived by two sons, reverend Billy Edwards Coots and wife Shirley of Columbus, Ohio and Denver David Coots and wife Becky of London, Kentucky.
She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Jackie Coots of Elk Creek Kentucky.
The following grandchildren also survive; Donna Kimmet and husband Mike, Danetta Snyder and husband Kenny, Jeff Coots and wife Meshell, Jonathan Coots and wife Carlene, Chrissy Coots and husband Rodney Caldwell, Randy Coots and wife Jenna, Wayne Coots and wife Amanda.
Great-grandchildren Britney Banyas and husband Carey, Bethany, Michelle, Tabbitha, Courtland, Parker, Hope Brandenburg and husband Dylan, Jeffrey Coots and wife Emily, Mathew, Jarrod, Tyler, Eric, Aiden, Samatha, Aaron, Aubrie, Katelyn, and Josiah.
Great-great-grandchildren include Issac, Rowan, John Luke and Hallie Grace, several nieces and nephews and many other family and friends.
