Vance Garrison passed away on June 23, 2020, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY. He taught school at East Bernstadt Independent School until he retired. He was a dedicated member of the Calvary Worship Center in London, KY.
Vance is survived by his daughters and son: Syreeta Garrison, Jacqueline Rader; and Rance Garrison; his grandchildren: Angel Garrison, Breanna Lawson, Samantha Asher, and Amber Lawson; his great-grandson, Brendan Bowling, and his sisters and brothers: Mildred Garrison, Jerry (Laura) Garrison, Larry (Nola) Garrison, Charlene (Michael) Wooley, and Sharon (Danny) Gabbard.
He is also survived by his mother, Elizabeth Barrett Cole, and 9 brothers and sisters; by his former wife, Debbie Garrison, whose love for each other has endured throughout the years; his stepchildren: Matt Newton, Anthony Newton, Sarah Newton, and Rachel Johnson; his step-grandchildren: Kayla Hess, Kristen Henson, Kimberly Henson, Zachary Johnson, and Grayson Hess.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mable Garrison; his twin brother, Rance Garrison; his grandmother, Mae Garrison; grandparents, Frank and Polly Barrett; and sisters, Matilda Cole and Miriam Khalidi.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cincinnati Children's Hospital P.O. Box 5202 Cincinnati, OH 45201-5202.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 27th at Britton Funeral Home in Manchester, KY, with Ken Bolin officiating. Burial will follow at the Garrison Cemetery in Manchester, KY.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 27th at Britton Funeral Home in Manchester, KY.
