Doug Cawood was born on May 31, 1960, in Laurel County, Kentucky, the son of the late Jacob W. Cawood and Della Harris Cawood Jackson, who survives of East Bernstadt.
He is also survived by his wife, LaVersa Purvis Cawood of East Bernstadt, two children, Brandon Douglas Cawood and Chelsea Danielle Cawood, both of East Bernstadt, four siblings, Carl Cawood, Kenny Cawood, Sherry Blaylock and Tina Cawood, all of London, four grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Konner Cawood and Braylen and Maysea Graham, plus a host of other friends and relatives to mourn his passing.
Doug was a retired member of the London Laurel Rescue Squad and a member of Evans Chapel Holiness Church.
Doug Cawood departed this life at LaConte Medical Center in Sevierville, Tennessee, on Saturday, February 1, 2020, being 59 years, 8 months and 1 day of age.
Funeral services for Doug Cawood will be conducted at 11 AM Thursday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Kip Wells and Todd Hignite officiating. Burial will follow in the Cawood Cemetery at East Bernstadt.
The family of Doug Cawood will receive friends at Bowling Funeral Home after 6 PM Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Bowling Funeral Home to help with the funeral expenses.
