Harold Burns, 88, of Manchester, KY, passed away Thursday, October 25th, at his home.
Harold was born in Miami, FL on April 5, 1930, a son of the late Sylvania (Brewer) Rice and Grover Burns. He was a veteran of the US Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena "Tincy" Burns.
Harold is survived by his daughter, Peggy Hensley and husband David of Manchester; and by his son, Ronnie Burns and wife Lottie Woods Burns of Matthews, NC.
Harold is also survived by his sister, Bertha Rice of Hamilton, OH; by 4 grandchildren: Leslie Allen Hensley and wife Cassondra, Amanda Fesperman and husband Ramey, David Garrad Hensley and wife Sara, and Nathan Burns; and by the following great grandchildren: Paige Hensley, David Casey Hensley, Mary Hensley, Carter Burns, Luke Fesperman, Levi Fesperman and Emma Burns.
In addition to his wife and parents, Harold was preceded in death the following brother and sisters: Clyde Burns, Thelma Embling and Gertrude Centers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Clay County Cancer Coalition, 412 Goose Hollow Rd Manchester, KY 40962.
Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Sunday, October 28th at Britton Funeral Home in Manchester, KY, with Lottie Burns officiating. Burial will follow at the Pine Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 11:00 AM on Sunday, October 28th at Britton Funeral Home in Manchester, KY.
