Mr. Arnold Maxie, age 78 of Manchester departed this life on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at his home. He was born on Thursday, October 5, 1939 in Manchester to the union of Joe and Callie Stevens Maxie. He was a coal miner and a member of the New Beginnings Community Church.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 59 years and 8 months: Beulah Rawlings Maxie, his children: Charlene Harrison and her husband Danny, Eugene Maxie and his wife Julie, Herbert Maxie and his wife Yvonne, Timothy Maxie and his wife Sharon, Jessie Lee Maxie and Debbie and Charles Douglas Maxie and his wife Gracie. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and these brothers and sisters: Ricky Maxie, Darrell Maxie, Betty Hannon, Carolyn Wayne Scott and Billie Joyce Bargo as well as several nieces, nephews, friends and good friends: Don Harris and Bro. Tim Reid.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Joe and Callie Maxie, his daughter: Shelia McQueen, his grandson: Richard McQueen, his brothers: Arthur “Shug” Maxie, Roland Maxie, Harold Wayne Maxie and Michael Maxie.
Funeral Services for Mr. Arnold Maxie will be conducted on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 2 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bobby Stevens, Rev. Todd Hicks and Rev. Tim Reid will be presiding. Interment will follow in the Adams Cemetery in the Charlie Sizemore Road Community.
Visitation will be held on Thursday evening after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Rominger Funeral Home.
