Artemus, Ky. – On October 17, 2016 at approximately 1:45 p.m. Detective Aaron Frederick with KSP Post 10 Harlan was traveling on Ky 225 in the Artemus community of Knox County.
Det. Frederick observed a white 1999 Nissan quickly make a right turn at an intersection and then the operator of the Nissan started driving from the center line to the fog line several times before being stopped.
During the traffic stop, Det. Frederick detected a strong odor of marijuana. The operator of the vehicle, Joseph G. Wagers, 26, of Corbin admitted that marijuana was inside the vehicle and also marijuana brownies that where later located inside of a container.
Det. Frederick located over five ounces of marijuana, digital scales, and over five pounds of marijuana brownies during the search of the vehicle. Mr. Wagers admitted to troopers that he was going to the Kay-Jay community of Knox County to sell marijuana.
Mr. Wagers was arrested and charged with the following charges:
