Mount Vernon, Ky. - On Wednesday July 27th 2016 around 7:30 A.M. officer Keegan Bray with Kentucky State Police Vehicle Enforcement responded to an injury accident located on I-75 near northbound near the 53 mile marker in Rockcastle Co Kentucky.
Upon arrival and through investigation Bray determined that 55 year old Ralph Chestnut of London, Kentucky was operating a 2012 Freightliner when he collided with a 2015 Freightliner being operated by 58 Herman Black of Houston, Texas.
Chestnut was transported by ambulance to Rockcastle Co Regional hospital and later to University of Kentucky Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected factors in the crash, and all parties reported wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
Clean up Crews worked over two hours to clean debris from the roadway as traffic was re-routed onto KY 909 then to US 25 in Mount Vernon, Kentucky.
