Falsely Reporting an Incident arrests by LSO Deputies

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Shawn Jackson along with Deputy Shannon Jones arrested two individuals off Lynn Acres Road, approximately 9 miles south of London early Friday morning July 15, 2016 at approximately 4:00 A.M.

The arrests occurred after deputies were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle complaint and they located two subjects outside a residence off Lynn Acres Road.

Deputies conducted an investigation and were told by the two individuals found there that someone had allegedly tried to kick in the door of their residence nearby. Two witnesses were interviewed. Deputies noted that the two individuals explanation was determined to be unfounded and made up.

Deputies detected a strong smell of alcoholic beverages emitting from the two individuals and determined that they were under the influence.

Upon arrest, one individual, Joshua Howard, began yelling and creating a disturbance and had to be restrained and escorted to the police cruiser. This subject then urinated in the back floorboard of the police cruiser. This subject attempted to kick at Deputy Jackson in a threatening manner. This subject had to be physically escorted from the police cruiser to the booking area after cleaning the back of the police cruiser.

Joshua Howard age 24 of Lynn Acres Road, Corbin was charged with falsely reporting an incident; disorderly conduct – second degree; criminal trespassing – third degree; and alcohol intoxication in a public place. This subject was also charged on a Knox County bench warrant of arrest for Failure to Appear in Court.

Also arrested was Joseph Howard age 23 of Lynn Acres Road, Corbin charged with falsely reporting an incident; criminal trespassing – third degree; and alcohol intoxication in a public place.

The two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
