Complaint lands a Tennessee man behind bars in Laurel County


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Rick Cloyd along with Deputy Charlie Johnson arrested Travis Grissom age 24 of Cleveland, Tennessee on Sunday night July 10, 2016 at approximately 8:11 PM.

The arrest occurred on Adams Road, approximately 10 miles south of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint that a male subject was attempting to break into trailers on some tractor-trailers parked at a truck stop in southern Laurel County.

When deputies arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation they learned that the subject had fled the scene prior to deputies arrival there.

Deputies conducted a search of the area and found the suspect nearby and following a short foot chase and a brief scuffle with the suspect, deputies were able to arrest the suspect.

Deputies determined that the suspect was under the influence. Travis Grissom was charged with public intoxication – controlled substances; fleeing or evading police – second degree – on foot; and resisting arrest and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
