FRANKFORT, Ky. (July 6, 2016) – “Regulatory reform in Kentucky is long overdue, and I commend Gov. Bevin for taking the initiative to identify which administrative regulations are needed, and which ones are no longer necessary. We currently have more than 4,500 administrative regulations on the books, many of which have not even been reviewed since the mid 1970’s.
As regulations become outdated, obsolete, or conflict with others, Kentucky is without a process to remove them from the books. Rather, we are stuck with enforcing archaic and unnecessary regulations that stifle business and job creation.
“As businesses become overwhelmed with regulations, they incur more costs, and simply pass them on to the consumer. Anytime we can remove unnecessary burdens on businesses and individuals, we are making Kentucky a better place to live and to do business.”
