Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Kyle Gray and Deputy Brandon Broughton arrested Adam Johnson age 31 of West Hwy. 1376, East Bernstadt on Monday night June 27, 2016 at approximately 10:40 PM.
The arrest occurred on Jackson Road, approximately 6 miles north of London after deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet driven by a 15-year-old female. Adam Johnson was the passenger in the vehicle and he advised the vehicle belonged to him but he had not transferred the vehicle and he did not have insurance on it.
Deputies notified the 15-year-old female juvenile's grandmother to come to the scene to pick up the 15-year-old. When the grandmother arrived she advised that Social Services had implemented a plan involving these two individuals and that they were not to have any contact with each other. The 15-year-old female juvenile was released to her grandmother.
An investigation was conducted on the 31-year-old male passenger and as the investigation was being conducted, the passenger became irate yelling and causing a disturbance there. The passenger was also determined to be under the influence.
Adam Johnson was charged with public intoxication – controlled substances; disorderly conduct – second degree; failure to wear seatbelts; failure to maintain insurance – first offense; failure to transfer motor vehicle; and other traffic violations and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
