Hazard, KY - The Hazard Police Department will be accepting applications for Kentucky Law Enforcement Council certified peace officers.
Prerequisites: Any and all applicants must be Kentucky Law Enforcement Council certified police officers. The position to be filled will carry the rank of Patrolman as defined in the Hazard Code of Ordinances Section 34.71(A) and in the Hazard Police Department policies and procedures administrative manual chapter 4 section 8.
All candidates must have existing and current certifications, training, and experience to fulfill the responsibilities of the position and must have the physical capability to perform all of the usual functions associated with the rank of Patrolman within the Department. In addition to these qualifications which are imposed upon candidates for employment by the City of Hazard Police Department, all candidates must also meet or exceed any other standards or criteria for criminal investigations, enforcement of traffic laws and have a thorough understanding the Kentucky Revised Statutes.
