Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Gilbert Acciardo visited Girl Scout Troop #1326 on Thursday evening, January 14, 2016, at Camp Ground Elementary School to conduct a general safety program for the 14 girls in attendance.
Deputy Acciardo spoke with the girls about seat belt safety, gun safety, dangerous strangers, drug education, use of 911 and community helpers. A short question and answer session followed the program.
Sheriff Root provides deputies to conduct safety programs regularly for the youth of Laurel County stressing that our young people are the future of our county.
