Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy John Inman along with Sgt. Brett Reeves, and Bailiff Brad Mink arrested a 22-year-old male subject on Wednesday morning, October 7, 2015, at approximately 11:17 AM.
The arrest occurred off of West Laurel Rd. in front of Cold Hill Elementary school, approximately 5 miles west of London after deputies responded to a complaint that a male subject, who was a client that lived there, was assaulting an employee of Inspired Living.
While deputies were en route to the scene, they received additional information that the male subject had fled the scene, traveling across the street to the nearby Cold Hill Elementary school and had made entry into the school.
Prior to deputies arrival at the school, 911 dispatchers advised that the male subject was assaulting the principal of the school, and that the school was in lockdown.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they encountered a male subject in front of Cold Hill Elementary school, taking him into custody without incident.
They learned through investigation that the male subject had struck the vice director of Inspired Living in the back of the head causing injury to her.
The 37-year-old female victim was transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to St. Joseph Hospital London for treatment of injuries sustained in the assault.
The 22-year-old male client of Inspired Living was charged with assault – third-degree – school employee; and assault – fourth degree and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
Deputies at the scene advised that the Cold Hill Elementary school principal was able to get this out-of-control male subject out of the school upon encountering him inside the foyer of the school, and was assaulted by this subject in front of the school causing head and leg injuries to the principal.
