(Blair, Ky.) Kentucky State Police in Harlan is investigating the shooting death of a Harlan County man. KSP in Harlan received the initial report shortly before 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday.
Troopers and detectives responded to the Blair community of Harlan County and found 56 year-old Teddy Jackson deceased in his residence from an apparent gunshot wound. Through the course of the investigation it was determined that Mr. Jackson was shot by his grandson, a 14 year-old juvenile.
Det. Joshua Brashears placed the juvenile into custody. The juvenile was charged with Reckless Homicide, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Wanton Endangerment 1st. The juvenile was transported to the Breathitt County Juvenile Detention Facility. The body of Mr. Jackson was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy to be performed tomorrow.

Jason Bunch, KSP Lieutenants Jason Adams and Randy Surber, Cumberland Police Department, Harlan County Sheriff’s Office, Harlan County Coroner’s Office, Tri-City Rescue Squad and Johnson’s Lifecare, EMS.
Det. Brashears is continuing the investigation.
