Biker facing numerous charges - Clay County

Manchester, Ky. - MPD is reporting that on Saturday, June 27,2015 Manchester Police Officer Jimmy Smith and Sgt. Jeff Collett were responding to a complaint at the Memorial Hospital when Officer Smith came upon a male subject on a dirt bike on Memorial drive.

Apparently the subject thought he was being pursued by police at which time he accelerated the motorcycle to a high rate of speed past the Rawlings and Stinson park while pedestrians were crossing in the crosswalk.

At this time Officer Smith attempted to stop the motorcycle but the driver continued on Memorial drive on through to Beech Creek Apts. where several people, including children, were outside in the parking lot.

The rider then traveled down Lyttleton road where officers boxed him in and at which time the he ditched the motorcycle and attempted to flee on foot.

After a short foot chase officers apprehended the subject, Ralph Hall Jr., of Manchester.

Hall was arrested and charged with fleeing or evading police 1st degree (motor vehicle), fleeing or evading police 2nd degree (on foot), resisting arrest, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs 1st offense, wanton endangerment 2nd degree, disregarding stop sign, failure to signal, no motorcycle operators license, operating ATV on roadway, reckless driving, failure of owner to maintain required insurance 1st offense, and criminal mischief 3rd degree.

Hall was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.

Officer Smith was the arresting officer.
