Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Kyle Gray along with deputy Shawn Jackson and CSO Roy Ball arrested Keresia Botner age 42 of Bill Sub Rd., London early Sunday morning May 24, 2015 at approximately 5:56 A.M.
The arrest occurred at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of an intoxicated female subject who was destroying store merchandise.
When deputies arrived at the scene and located this subject, she had several items of women's clothing laying on the floor.
In addition, she had three carts full of plants from the store and was eating the cabbage plants stating that she wanted to see if they really tasted like cabbage.
As deputies investigated they learned that the total merchandise destroyed totaled $160.
In addition, this subject was determined to be under the influence and told officers she had been shooting up meth earlier. Deputies located this subject in possession of two syringes that the subject admitted using to shoot up the meth.
As the investigation continued deputies learned that she had driven herself to Walmart and deputies located her blue colored Volkswagen Beetle parked crooked in the fire lane of the store.
Also deputies learned that this subject had been arrested at Walmart in London just over a year ago for shoplifting.
Keresia Botner was charged with criminal mischief – third-degree; disorderly conduct – second degree; criminal trespassing – second degree; operating a motor vehicle under the influence – second offense; driving on DUI suspended license – first offense; improper parking in a fire lane/ blocking the travel portion of the highway; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Keresia Botner was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
