Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Tommy Houston arrested Michael Vickers age 27 Of Cole Rd., London on Monday night May 18, 2015 at approximately 7:25 P.M.
The arrest occurred off Wyatt Road approximately 8 miles south of London after Deputy Houston was dispatched to go with social services to this residence to conduct a welfare check on a five-year-old female child who allegedly had a gun pointed at her.
When deputy Houston arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation he learned that allegedly this subject had pointed a high point 9 mm at the five-year-old after the child was in a bathtub splashing water out onto the floor.
The mother of the child originally stated that the weapon was a toy gun.
Michael Vickers told Deputy Houston and the social worker that he did not think it was a big deal that he pointed a gun at the child.
Deputy Houston charged Michael Vickers, who is the step father of the five-year-old female, with wanton endangerment – second-degree: endangering the welfare of a minor; and menacing and lodged him in the Laurel County Detention Center.
