LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Zach Allen arrested Aaron Jones, age 39, of Hopkinsville, KY on Wednesday afternoon February 25, 2025 at approximately 5:05 PM.
The arrest occurred on Wyatt Road, approximately 6 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. to a complaint of a male subject apparently passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle out in the roadway there.
Upon arrival at scene Deputy Allen conducted an investigation on the driver of a Gray colored Hyundai Accent determining that he was under the influence.
During the investigation Deputy Allen located a small baggie on the dashboard of the vehicle containing a white crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine. The driver stated he had taken meth earlier the same day.
Aaron Jones was charged with:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – third offense
- Driving on a DUI suspended license – first offense
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine
- Numerous registration and insurance violations
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
