LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Matt Walker along with Deputy Noah Ritchie arrested Ethan Back age 38 of London on Wednesday night February 12, 2025 at approximately 9:50 PM.
The arrest occurred on Somerset Road, approximately 3 miles west of London following a traffic stop conducted on a red Ford Focus that was observed by deputies weaving on the roadway.
During the stop deputies determined that the vehicle had an expired registration plate since November 2023 and had no insurance on the vehicle.
In addition, deputies detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle and conducted an investigation locating the driver in possession of a clear plastic baggie containing hydrocodone.
In addition, deputies also located another clear plastic baggie containing a white substance believed to be methamphetamine.
The driver stated that he had ingested both substances earlier.
Ethan Back was charged with:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense
- Failure of owner to maintain required insurance – first offense
- No registration plates
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – offense – hydrocodone
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
