MANCHESTER, KY - Clay County Sheriff, Patrick Robinson, reports that on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025 at approximately 1:50 AM, Deputy Walter Marker observed a black truck traveling south on Richmond Road.
Deputy Marker conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle after observing multiple traffic infractions.
Upon making contact with the driver, Bruce Hoskins, age 57, Deputy Marker observed he was not wearing a seat belt.
Hoskins was unable to produce his driver's license, proof of insurance and registration receipt. This individual was unsteady on his feet and had slurred speech.
Deputy Sgt. Wes Brumley arrived on scene and conducted the Field Sobriety Tests in which Hoskins failed.
Search incident to arrest resulted in the discovery of a glass pipe that was destroyed on scene.
Bruce Hoskins was charged with:
- FAILURE TO DIM HEADLIGHTS
- FAILURE TO OR IMPROPER SIGNAL
- CARELESS DRIVING
- FAILURE TO WEAR SEAT BELTS
- LICENSE TO BE IN POSSESSION
- FAILURE TO PRODUCE INSURANCE CARD
- NO REGISTRATION RECEIPT
- OPER MTR VEHICLE U/INFL CONT SUB (189A.010(1D) - 1ST
This individual was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.
