LONDON, KY - Message from Laurel County Sheriff John Root: Your Sheriff's office has had a busy January! Detectives and deputies with the Sheriff's office continue to concentrate on conducting drug investigations in Laurel County on a daily basis.
We made 10 arrests charging 29 counts on meth, heroin and pills violations. We have always made drug investigations a priority at your Sheriff's office- and will continue!
The Laurel County Sheriff's office will continue to emphasize the removal of intoxicated drivers from Laurel County roadways. We made 3 DUI arrests. As you are aware, DUI drivers are involved in a large number of serious injury and fatal crashes. The Sheriff's Office will continue to make removing intoxicated drivers from our roadways a priority! Sheriff's deputies responded to 1,312 calls for service.
