LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Taylor McDaniel (case officer) arrested Benjamin Hobson age 36 of County Farm Rd., London early Friday morning December 20, 2024 at approximately 1:54 AM.
The arrest occurred off Payne Trail Road approximately 4 miles east of London following an investigation conducted by the Laurel County Sheriff's office after deputies were dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. to a subject shot complaint on Thursday night December 19, 2024 at approximately 11:45 PM.
Sheriff's investigators report that a male victim was shot multiple times causing serious physical injury to the victim. The victim was flown to UK med center in Lexington and is listed in critical condition with gunshot wounds to the chest and leg. A weapon has been recovered.
Benjamin Hobson was charged with:
- Assault – first-degree
- Possession of a handgun by a convicted felon
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
