LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Taylor McDaniel arrested Amy Simpson age 40 of Slate Lick Rd., London on Thursday morning September 19, 2024 approximately 9:40 AM.
The arrest occurred off Love Road approximately 2 miles north of London, after deputies were dispatched to a gunshot victim complaint off Slate Lick Road 2 miles north of London.
Responding deputies were advised that the suspect had fled the scene but the deputies were able to locate the suspect off Love Road a short time later at a residence.
An investigation was conducted and it was learned that allegedly a verbal altercation led to the shooting.
The male victim was found with a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The female allegedly involved was identified as Amy Simpson, age 40 of Slate Lick Rd., London, KY.
Amy Simpson was charged with:
- Assault – first-degree
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
