FATAL TWO VEHICLE COLLISION ON SOUTH MAIN STREET IN LONDON, KY

LONDON, KY - London City Police Chief Jerry Hollon is reporting that Officer James Williams from the London Police Department responded to a fatal collision involving a vehicle versus a motorcycle which occurred on September 9, 2024 at approximately 8:11 am.

Through a preliminary investigation, it was found that Lowell Carter, age 84 of London, KY was operating a 2020 Can-Am Ryker at the time of the collision which occurred on S. Main Street and Armory Street.

Carter was treated on scene and transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to the CHI St. Joseph – London Hospital for his injuries. Carter would later succumb to his injuries shortly after arriving at the Hospital.

Currently, this is still an ongoing investigation. The collision is being investigated by the London Laurel Reconstruction Team consisting of Capt. Ryan Jackson and Officer Hobie Daugherty of the London Police Department.

The London Police Department was assisted on scene by London City Fire Department, London - Laurel Rescue Squad and Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County.
