ONGOING INVESTIGATION OF FATAL ACCIDENT OFF HWY-229 IN KNOX COUNTY, KENTUCKY

GIRDLER, KY — The Knox County, Ky. Sheriff's Department reports that: At approximately 10:30 a.m. Sunday, August 18, 2024, Knox County KY Sheriff's Deputies responded to the scene of an accident 1.5 miles from U.S. 25E just off Kentucky Route 229.

Once on scene, deputies observed black skid marks leaving the roadway with tracks showing the vehicle traveled over an embankment and into a tree line.

Located was a black Toyota Tundra truck that had come to rest on its side.

Deputies found the lone occupant, a male driver, who was deceased and had to be extricated from the vehicle.

The Knox County Coroner's Office identified the individual as 40-year-old Brad Rose of Girdler, KY and pronounced him deceased on scene.

Deputy Thomas Martin and Lt. Sam Mullins are charge of the ongoing investigation.

Also assisting on scene was Knox County EMS and Bailey Switch Fire Department.
