LONDON, KY - London City Police Chief Jerry Hollon is reporting that Heather R. Manning of London, KY has been arrested during a London PD shooting investigation.
On Sunday, August 25th, 2024 at approximately 11:04 PM, officers from the London Police Department responded to a 911 hang-up call from the residence of Joe T. and Judy Roberts located at 1 Heather Way in London.
Upon arrival officers found Heather R. Manning lying on the ground outside of the residence with a gunshot wound to the arm. Officers then located Judy W. Roberts lying on the floor inside the residence with injuries due to an apparent armed assault by Manning. Both were transported to CHI St. Joseph-London Hospital and later transferred to UK Hospital in Lexington.
Manning was arrested and held in the Fayette County Detention Center to await transfer to the Laurel County Detention Center.
Heather R. Manning, age 50, is now lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center charged with:
- Assault 2nd Degree
- Assault 4th Degree
- Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (2 Counts)
- Unlawful Imprisonment (2 Counts)
According to information obtained from the Laurel County Detention Center website, Manning was booked into the facility on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 3:56 PM.

At this time, the investigation is still ongoing by the London Police Department Investigation Section.
Detective Sergeant Elbert Riley is the primary investigator and was assisted at the scene by Officer Coty Arnold, Sgt. Ryan Jackson, Officer Michael Blair, Detective Sgt. Ashley Taylor, Captain Ryan Jackson, Chief Jerry Hollon and Deputy Bobby Roberts from the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.
