MPD OFFICER IN MANCHESTER, KY RECEIVES GOVERNOR'S AWARD FOR OCCUPANT PROTECTION ENFORCEMENT

MANCHESTER, KY - Chief of Police Jeff Couch and the Manchester Police Department (MPD) on Wednesday congratulated MPD K-9 Officer John Root for receiving one of the Governor's Occupant Protection Enforcement Awards.

Officer Root was presented the award at the 2024 annual Governor’s Occupant Protection Enforcement Awards Ceremony held Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at the Campbell House in Lexington and highlighted the efforts of Kentuckians representing 130 different agencies.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s (KYTC) Office of Highway Safety (KOHS) presented the awards to those with the most occupant protection citations in each agency and in each division from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024.

"John is an outstanding Officer and blessing to the city of Manchester. By receiving this award it shows his dedication and hard work in his determination to saving lives." Said MPD Chief Couch.
