BARBOURVILLE, KY - According to the Knox County, Ky. Sheriff's Department, Sheriff Mike Smith has reported the following recent enforcement actions:
On July 19, 2024 Deputies arrested Chad R Posey age 39 of Woodbine, KY on a Knox County Arrest Warrant for Criminal Mischief-2nd Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police-2nd Degree, Reckless Driving and Operating of Suspended License. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On July 20, 2024 at approximately 3:30 am SGT Jesse Smith observed a vehicle stopped for a long period of time at the traffic light on US 25E in Barbourville. The vehicle turned left on KY3439. When SGT Smith attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle continued on and turned left onto Henson Hollow Road before finally stopping. SGT Smith arrested the driver, Michael Rose age 29 of Williamsburg, KY, charging him with Fleeing or Evading Police-1st Degree, Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, Operating on Suspended or Revoked Operators License, During the arrest, Michael Rose attempted to dispose of a straw and rolled up one dollar bill containing white residue. He was charged with Tampering with Tampering with Physical Evidence, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Michael Rose was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On July 22, 2024 Deputies arrested Ronald C Thomas age 19 of London, KY on a Whitley County Bench Warrant for failure to appear on Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, Fleeing or Evading Police-2nd Degree, Reckless Driving, Speeding, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Open Alcohol Beverage Container in Motor Vehicle, Improper Display of Registration Plates and Endangering Welfare of a Minor. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On July 24, 2024 LT Sam Mullins arrested Ronnie Dean Gray age 59 of Girdler, KY charging him with Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On July 24, 2024 Deputies arrested Anthony Smith age 44 of Flat Lick. KY on a Knox County Indictment Warrant for Bail Jumping-1st Degree and Persistent Felony Offender I. Anthony Smith was also wanted on a Knox County Arrest Warrant for Criminal Trespassing-3rd Degree and two Knox County Bench Warrants for failure to appear on Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Criminal Trespassing-3rd Degree charges. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On July 26, 2024 SGT Jesse Smith arrested Michael B Hammons age 41 of Barbourville. KY on a Knox County Arrest Warrant for Assault-4th Degree, Endangering Welfare of a Minor and Terroristic Threatening-3rd Degree . He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On July 26, 2024 SGT Jesse Smith responded to domestic violence complaint at a residence on Dean Lane in Corbin. After arriving at the residence and conducting an investigation, SGT Smith arrested Michael Hammons age 40 of Barbourville, KY charging him with Strangulation-2nd Degree, Assault-4th Degree and Terroristic Threatening-3rd Degree. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On July 27, 2024 Deputy Dylan Lewis responded a disturbance complaint at a residence on Hobart Lane in Gray. After arriving at the residence and conducting an investigation, Deputy Lewis arrested Preston J Hinkle age 45 of Flat Lick, KY charging him with Assault-4th Degree and Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On July 28, 2024 Deputy Dylan Lewis arrested Jeffery T Sweeney age 25 of Bardstown. KY on a Rockcastle County Bench Warrant for failure to appear on No Registration Plates and No Registration Receipt charges. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On July 29, 2024 Deputies arrested John Whitehead age 50 of Barbourville. KY on a Knox County Bench for failure to pay the fine on a Possession of Controlled Substance-2nd Degree charge. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On July 29, 2024 Deputy Thomas Martin arrested Karyn Merida age 48 of Barbourville. KY on a Knox County Arrest Warrant for Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition/Shoplifting. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On July 31, 2024 Deputies arrested Cathaleen Hinton age 59 of Barbourville. KY on a Knox County Bench Warrant for failure to appear on Criminal Littering, Criminal Mischief-3rd Degree and 4 counts Endangering Welfare of a Minor charges. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On August 1, 2024 Deputy Dylan Lewis arrested Nathaniel W Hollin age 25 of London. KY on a Laurel County Arrest Warrant for Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition/Shoplifting. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On August 4, 2024 SGT Jesse Smith arrested Kimberlee Hembree age 41 of Flat Lick. KY on a Knox County Bench Warrant for failure to pay the fines on Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place and Criminal Mischeif-3rd Degree. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On August 5, 2024 SGT Jesse Smith received a complaint from Knox Dispatched stating that a 2 year old child was lying on the floor unresponsive at a residence on KY 223 in Dewitt. After arriving at the residence and waking the parents and the child, SGT Smith determined that the call made to Knox Dispatch was false. SGT Smith arrested Finley Smith age 44 of Dewitt. KY charging him with Falsely Reporting an Incident to Law Enforcement. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On August 6, 2024 Deputy Dylan Lewis responded to a trespassing complaint at a residence on Arkle Road in Gray. After arriving at the residence and contacting the owner, Deputy Lewis arrested Tiffany Ann Blevins age 33 of Gray. KY charging her with Criminal Trespassing-3rd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Menacing and Possession of Marijuana. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On August 6, 2024 Deputies arrested Brandon W Jones age 30 of Corbin. KY on a Laurel County Bench Warrant for failure to pay the fine Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition<$1000. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On August 6, 2024 Deputy Thomas Martin arrested Helen Boggs age 39 of Corbin. KY on a Knox County Bench Warrant for failure to pay the fines on Public Intoxication/Controlled Substance, Possession Controlled Substance-2nd Degree and Prescription Controlled Substance not in Proper Container charges. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On August 6, 2024 Deputy Thomas Martin arrested Jessie R Lawson age 34 of Pineville. KY on a Bell County Bench Warrant for failure to pay the fine on a Failure to Produce Insurance Card charge. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On August 8, 2024 Deputy Thomas Martin arrested Austin Epley age 28 of Corbin. KY on a Knox County Bench Warrant for failure to appear on Public Intoxication/Controlled Substance and Contempt of Court charges. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On August 9, 2024 Sheriff Mike Smith responded to a domestic violence complaint at a residence on Powers Lane in Bryants Store. After arriving at the residence Sheriff Smith learned that a man had destroyed property inside his grandmother’s house and threatened her with the hammer. Jeremy Sandlin age 31 of Bryants Store. KY was arrested and charged with Wanton Endangerment-2nd Degree, Terroristic Threatening-3rd Degree and Criminal Mischief-3rd Degree. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On August 11, 2024 Deputy Thomas Martin observed a vehicle being driven by Arturo Zazueta on KY 6 in Barbourville. After conducting a traffic stop, Deputy Lewis arrested Arturo Zazueta age 43 of Gray, KY charging him with Driving on DUI Suspended License. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
