LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Tommy Houston along with Detective Jake Miller arrested Tammy Lavon Lawson age 48 of London on Tuesday morning August 6, 2024.
The arrest occurred at approximately noon following a traffic stop conducted on North Main St. in London on a red Chevrolet Blazer that failed to yield right-of-way while attempting to merge into traffic nearly striking Detective Houston's police cruiser.
During the traffic stop and the resulting investigation, the driver was determined to be under the influence and had no operator's license.
Tammy Lawson was charged with:
- Reckless driving
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense
- No operator's license
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
