SIX PEOPLE INJURED IN WORK ZONE CRASH ON KENTUCKY HIGHWAY 36 IN CARROLL COUNTY

CAMPBELLSBURG, KY –The Kentucky State Police (KSP) report that on Monday, August 5, 2024 at approximately 11:53 a.m. KSP Post 5 in Campbellsburg received a call in reference to an accident on Kentucky Highway 36 in Carroll County.

KSP Post 5 and other emergency personnel responded to the scene.  The preliminary investigation indicates that a dump truck was stopped in the eastbound lane of HWY 36 for an active work zone.  A Chevrolet utility truck was traveling east and for unknown reasons was unable to stop before striking the dump truck. 

The driver of the dump truck was not transported for medical care.  The driver and five (5) passengers of the utility truck were transported to various hospitals as a result of their injuries.

This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by Kentucky State Police Post 5. 

KSP was assisted on scene by Carroll County EMS, Trimble County EMS, Carroll County Sheriff Office, Ghent Fire, and Carroll County Fire.
