LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Zach Allen (case officer) along with Capt. Chris Edwards, Detective Robert Reed, and Deputy Allen Turner are investigating a single vehicle fatal traffic crash they were dispatched to by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr.
The Crash occurred on KY 192 approximately 8 miles west of London on Wednesday afternoon August 7, 2024 at approximately 2:22 PM.
Deputies report that the preliminary investigation suggests that the driver may have had a medical event causing him to lose control, travel off the roadway and hit a tree.
The driver was transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to St. Joseph Hospital London for treatment and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
The deceased driver was identified as: Jerry Clark, age 81, of London, KY.
Assisting at the scene or on the investigation were: Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, London Laurel Rescue Squad; Keavy Fire and Rescue, and the Laurel County Coroner’s Office. Investigation is continuing.
