KIDNAPPING ARREST OF A CORBIN, MAN THAT ALEGEDLY ASSAULTED AND DRAGGED A FEMALE VICTIM INTO A GARAGE ON HWY 6 IN GRAY, KY

BARBOURVILLE, KY - The Knox County, Ky. Sheriff's Department is reporting that on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at approximately 11:50 pm Knox County Deputies responded to a complaint of a female that been assaulted and dragged into a garage at a residence on KY 6 in Gray.

KNOX SHERIFF Badge 200When the deputies arrived, the man was standing outside the garage. When he was told to stop, he ran inside the garage and closed the door.

Deputy SGT Jesse Smith gave several commands for him to exit the garage and surrender.

After it was apparent the man was not coming out, deputies along with Corbin City Police Officers, entered the building.

The man and the female were located in the attic.

The female victim advised that Craig Stone had hit her, chocked her and forced her into the garage.

The male, identified as 35-year-old Craig Stone of Corbin, KY, became combative when he was placed under arrest.

Craig Stone was charged with:

  • Kidnapping/Adult
  • Strangulation -1st Degree
  • Assault - 4th Degree
  • Menacing
  • Disorderly Conduct -2nd Degree
  • Fleeing or Evading Police -1st Degree
  • Resisting Arrest

Stone was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
