LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Bobby Roberts arrested Benjamin Pedigo age 41 of East Bernstadt on Friday night July 12, 2024 at approximately 9:59 PM.
The arrest occurred on KY 30 approximately 6 miles north of London following a traffic stop conducted on a vehicle for an equipment violation.
When Deputy Roberts attempted to turn on the vehicle to conduct a traffic stop, he advised the vehicle, a black GMC Sonoma made a hard stop and turned into a driveway and shut his lights off. The driver advised that he stopped there to see a friend.
An investigation was conducted where it was determined that the driver’s license were suspended. In addition, the plates on the vehicle belonged on another vehicle. The vehicle being driven had a canceled plate and no insurance.
Also, as the investigation continued the driver was determined to be under the influence and stated that he had smoked meth the day before.
Also, it was determined that the driver was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Benjamin Pedigo was charged with:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – second offense
- Driving on a DUI suspended license – first offense
- Failure of owner to maintain required insurance – first offense
- Failure to register transfer of motor vehicle
In addition, this subject was wanted on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging:
- Nonpayment of court costs, fees or fines
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
