LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Reed arrested Walter Thompson age 37 of London on Friday afternoon July 12, 2024 at approximately 2:36 PM.
The arrest occurred approximately 3 miles west of London after deputies were dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communications Ctr. to a 911 hang-up call where dispatchers advised a female could be heard screaming about a male choking her and pushing her into the wall and asking if the male was going to shoot her in the head.
When deputies arrived at the scene an investigation was conducted and deputies noted that the female victim advised that the male subject there had placed his hands around her neck and pushed her up against the wall causing her to strike the back of her head.
Deputies noted red marks on the female's neck. The female victim was transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to St. Joseph Hospital in London for treatment.
Walter Thompson was charged with:
- Assault – 4th degree; menacing
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
