LONDON. KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's shift Sgt. Brett Reeves along with Deputy Gilbert Acciardo arrested Donald Shane Johnson age 35 of London on Friday morning June 28, 2024 at approximately 8:34 AM.
The arrest occurred off KY 490 approximately 3 miles north of London after deputies were dispatched by London–Laurel County 911 Communications Center to a complaint that a pink bicycle had allegedly been stolen by a male subject near a business who then traveled southbound on Highway 490 toward U.S. 25.
Deputies located the suspect approximately 1 mile from where the bicycle was taken, and conducted an investigation determining that this individual was wanted on two outstanding warrants.
Donald Shane Johnson was charged on a Laurel Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging:
- Probation violation regarding possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine
In addition, this subject was charged on a second Laurel Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest for:
- Probation violation
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
