CORPORAL BEN WEBB AWARDED LIFE SAVING MEDAL IN LONDON, KENTUCKY

LONDON, KY - The London Police Department (LPD) is reporting that LPD Chief Chuck Johnson was proud to have recognized Corporal Ben Webb Friday night at the London City Council meeting and present him a LIFE SAVING MEDAL.

LONDON PD Seal 200 2024 KY BlueOn Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024, while on duty in the city limits, Cpl. Webb overheard a call dispatched to EMS and the Laurel County Sheriff's Office for an 18 year old male who had a severe laceration to his leg on Moriah Church Road.

Realizing that he was the closest first responder, Cpl. Webb responded to the scene and assessed the situation.

Cpl. Webb found that the injury sustained was life threatening and that a belt had been applied as a makeshift tourniquet, but it was ineffective in stopping blood loss.

Utilizing his training and his department issued tourniquet, Cpl. Webb, applied the tourniquet to effectively stop the bleeding and save the young man's life.

For his efforts and quick thinking, Chief Chuck Johnson awarded Cpl. Webb with the LIFE SAVING MEDAL.
