LONDON, KY - The London Police Department is reporting that on Sunday, May 19th, 2024 at approximately 4:01 am, Officer Jordan Childers arrested Jenier Perez Rodriguez, age 19.
Officer Childers responded to Main Street to assist Deputy Joe Breeding with the Laurel County Sheriff's Office on a traffic stop.
Dep. Breeding observed a vehicle, operated by Rodriguez, crossing the yellow multiple times.
While conducting the traffic stop, Officer Childers observed an open alcoholic beverage in the vehicle and while speaking with Rodriguez, noted a strong odor of marijuana and an alcoholic beverage coming from his person.
Rodriguez was requested to step out of the vehicle and undergo Standard Field Sobriety Tests.
Upon completion, Rodriguez was determined to be under the influence and placed under arrest without incident.
Rodriguez was later lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
Jenier Perez Rodriguez was charged with:
- Operating a Motor Vehicle U/Influence of a Substance 1st Degree.
