GRAY, KY - The Knox County Sheriff's Department is reporting that on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at approximately 12:39 pm, Knox 911 received a call in reference to an individual found in a cow pasture.
The caller, a neighbor of the individual, stated he went to check on the man finding he was pinned between a trailer and a gate post.
Lt. Sam Mullins states that responding deputies determined 81-year-old William Mills of Gray, Kentucky was pulling a trailer with his tractor when he got off the vehicle to open the gate.
The tractor was found in neutral with the parking brake set, but the heavy load caused the trailer to back into Mr. Mills pinning him.
William Mills was pronounced deceased on scene by Knox County Deputy Coroner Floyd Blevins.
Also responding was Knox EMS, Knox County Emergency Management, and Bailey Switch Fire Department.
