LONDON, KY - On Monday, April 15, 2024 at approximately 11:49 pm, Sgt. Wade Mitchell arrested Braedon J. Carey, age 21 of Annville, KY.
After leaving another complaint for reckless driving, Sgt. Mitchell observed a vehicle pull out onto Whitley Street.
Upon seeing Sgt. Mitchell pull out behind them, the vehicle turned off his lights and took off at a high rate of speed.
Sgt. Mitchell gave chase but due to excessive speeds, lost sight of the vehicle. After a brief period Cpl. Ben Webb, who was in the area to assist, located the vehicle unoccupied.
Officers searched the area and were eventually able to locate the operator of the vehicle, identified as Carey.
Carey was placed under arrest without further incident and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
Braedon J. Carey was charged with:
- Fleeing or Evading Police - 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)
- Fleeing or Evading Police - 2nd Degree (On Foot)
- Speeding 26 MPH or >
- Reckless Driving, Failure to Illuminate Head Lamps
- No Brake Lights (Passenger Vehicle)
