LONDON, KY - On Monday, April 01, 2024 at approximately 10:58 pm, Officer Jordan Childers arrested Maranda B. Baker, age 25 of London, KY.
While on routine patrol, Officer Childers had a vehicle traffic stopped when another vehicle almost struck him and the vehicle he had traffic stopped.
Officer Childers was able to catch up to the vehicle and performed a traffic stop on it.
Upon speaking with the operator of the vehicle, identified as Baker, Officer Childers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person and she appeared intoxicated.
Officer Childers requested that Baker perform SFST's, and upon completion determined that Baker was under the influence.
Baker was placed under arrest without incident and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
Maranda B. Baker was charged with:
- Operating a Motor Vehicle U/Influence of Alcohol 1st Offense
- Failure of Non-Owner Operator to Maintain Insurance 1st Offense
- Failure to Produce Insurance Card.
