LOBDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Bobby Roberts arrested Patrick Melton age 38 of East Bernstadt on Friday night April 5, 2024 at approximately 9:28 PM.
The arrest occurred off North Laurel Rd., approximately 1 mile north of London after Deputy Roberts was dispatched to a complaint of an apparent intoxicated male subject apparently trying to get into a business there.
Upon arrival at the scene Deputy Roberts noted that a male subject stepped out of a vehicle there and began throwing items onto the ground stating he hadn't done anything and was not going to jail.
As Deputy Roberts attempted to investigate, this individual became combative creating a disturbance there.
Upon arrest, this individual briefly struggled with Deputy Roberts before being taken into custody.
An investigation was conducted and it was determined that the vehicle this individual was in at the time Deputy Roberts arrived at the scene was not his vehicle but belonged to the owner of the business.
Patrick Melton was charged with:
- Alcohol intoxication in a public place
- Menacing
- Resisting arrest
- Disorderly conduct – second-degree
- Criminal mischief – third-degree
- Criminal littering
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
