LEXINGTON, KY – Secretary of State Michael Adams is pleased to announce the winners of his Office’s 2023-2024 Essay Contest.
The contest was open to all high school students in Kentucky. The participants were asked to answer the question, “What can students do to address the mutual distrust of people of opposing political parties?”
The winners are:
- 9th grader Jack Gill of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Lexington
- 10th grader Karsten Ingalls of Castle Hill Academy in Rineyville
- 11th grader Varshitha Ramesh of Western Hills High School in Frankfort
- 12th grader Jacob Rudy of Apollo High School in Owensboro
Ingalls won the essay contest last year as a 9th grader.
Adams presented the awards to the winners during halftime at the KHSAA Sweet 16 tournament.
